Its essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the aerial parts. This process consists of carrying the volatile components (the essential oil) of the flowery domes with the water vapor. The vapor then condenses in the swarm, separating the essential oils from the hydrolase (water). It is known to soothe and soften the throat.
